Incorporated in July 2001, Transformer Oil Lab & Services Sdn Bhd (TOLS), previously known as SPM-TACS Services (M) Sdn Bhd, was set up to provide the best quality of service in the areas of Transformer Oil Analysis, Diagnosis and Treatment. Comprised of fully trained personnel, TOLS offer a comprehensive transformer condition monitoring service to potential clients as part of maintenance program that can assist transformer owners to identify potential problems on their most valuable asset.

Transformer Condition Monitoring Services (TCMS)
Condition Monitoring is fundamental to all preventive maintenance programs. With such, Transformer Condition Monitoring Service (TCMS) through Transformer Oil Analysis is a program offered by TOLS that provides professional consultation on transformer condition and health through periodic sampling and analysis, which include timely diagnostic and early advice concerning transformer.
Early warnings on problems arise will greatly assist the responsible party to plan effective preventive maintenance programs and inspection schedules which, in turn, result in optimization of their operation and reduction in unscheduled shutdowns.
Routine TCMS offered by us will also include visual inspection on transformer’s condition apart from oil sampling, oil analysis, diagnostics and reporting. Through the program, we will advise the clients on the most advantage and cost-effective remedial action to their system to take, whether to continue its current operation, proposing for oil treatment to improve oil quality, refurbishment or any replacement if necessary.

TCMS Transformer Oil Treatment Services
As part of TCMS, remedial action will be proposed to transformers for Oil Filtration or Oil Reclamation.
- Oil Filtration
• Single Step Purification, which involves elimination of Water Content in transformer oil and improve the Breakdown Voltage.
- Oil Reclamation
• Dual Step Purification which involves Oil Filtration and additional technique i.e. Oil Reclamation.
• Process will improve Water Content, Breakdown Voltage, Neutralization Value (Acidity), Interfacial Tension (IFT) and Total Combustible Gas.
TCMS Continuous Monitoring
Continuous monitoring is recommended as part of TCMS by having timely inspections on transformer physical condition apart from periodic oil analysis for early warnings on any possible faults and indication of oil deterioration.
