In line with SPM’s mission to be the leading  Engineering Contractor in the power industry within the ASEAN region, SPM has been certified since May-2004 with ISO 9001:2008 “Quality Management System” to ensure the best quality service is provided to our valued clients.

SPM was established initially to provide equipment inspection, testing and commissioning, of electrical and instrumentation equipment in the fields of power generation, transmission and distribution.
Over the years, SPM has progressively expanded into other Power areas of business, including supply, design, construction, operation and maintenance as well as taking contracts in the Oil & Gas sector and industrial Installations, expanding in size as well as offering a wider range of services in the engineering field.
SPM has established an impressive track record throughout the years in the power industry with the national power utility Tenaga Nasional (TNB), along with Petronas and other electrical majors such as ABB, Siemens, Hyundai, Alstom, Areva, Samsung, Toshiba to name a few. Originally registered with TNB as Service Vendor, SPM was upgraded to TNB’s Panel Contractor under Works & Services category by November 2006.
In Power Generation, SPM executes Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) scopes of Power Plants and has participated in the construction and commissioning of new power plants like the Janamanjung 3x700MV Coal Fire Plant, Tanjung Bin 3x700MW Coal Fired Plant and Jimah 2x700MW Coal Fired Plant.
In Transmission & Distribution, SPM has undertaken numerous turnkey contracts on  transmission Sub-Station projects in the range of 132kV, 275kV and up to 500kV, the highest in Malaysia. SPM also specialise in Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) installations for substations in urban areas.
Overseas presence of SPM was solidified by the completion of E&I works for the Bashayer-2 Oil Marine Terminal in Sudan and the complete-installation works for the 3x25MW Gas Turbine Power Station at the Al-Jalamid Phosphate Mine Complex in Saudi Arabia. 
Emerging activities of the SPM Group are in Renewable Energy, with focus on niche segments of Power Generation by Solar, Run-Of-River Hydro and Biomass.
